JOB DESCRIPTION

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Fuels System Distribution Mechanic to support a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Iraq. The Fuels System Distribution Mechanic is responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned internal work order for the fuels system distribution equipment at the site.Essential Job Duties:• Maintains all fuels systems and components (JP-8, MOGAS and Diesel)• Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, blueprints, sketches, diagrams and specifications, verbal and written instructions by Fuel Manager• Maintains and repairs fuel storage and distribution systems, using hand and power tools and testing instruments, inspects fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges, (such as distribution lines, float gauges, piping valves, pumps, and roof sumps)• Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment• Inspects electrical wiring, switches, and controls for safe-operating condition, grounding, and adjustment, lubricate and repack valves; lubricates pumps, replace gaskets, seals and correct pumping equipment misalignment, and clean strainers and filters• Services water separators, checks meters for correct delivery and calibration, overhaul system components such as pressure regulating valves and excess valves, disassemble, adjust, align, and calibrates gauges and meters or replace them, remove and install equipment such as filters and piping to modify system or repair and replace system components• Cleans fuel tanks and distribution lines, remove corrosion and repainting surfaces, overhaul vacuum and pressure vents, floats roof seals, hangers, and roof sumps, and maintain record of inspections and repairs• Disassembles, adjusts, aligns, and calibrates gages, thermometers and meters and replaces them• Operates, maintains, inspects and repairs spill response equipment and accessories• Maintains and updates schematic of systems• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalency• Five or more years of experience in a related field preferably with military background• Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision• Will enhance technical knowledge for maintaining fuel systems upgrade as required by Army and Civilian Regulationsand standards• Familiarity with facility/infrastructure regulations and standards as applicable• Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility /infrastructure regulations and standards• Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools• Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English• Experience in Above Ground Storage Tanks and Bladders (AST)• Three or more years of experience maintaining and repairing fuel storage and distribution systems using hand and power tools and testing instruments, inspects fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges, (such as distribution lines, float gauges, piping valves, pumps, and roof sumps)• Ability to speak, read, and write English at a professional level• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs such as Word and Excel
