SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer, Construction and Engineering for our Program Management Office (PMO), Taji, Iraq.


•Oversee the civil engineering design aspects of all construction for all Iraq-based programs

•The main focus areas of this role will include the following:

ocivil engineering support for construction activities

oreview of civil engineering drawings, plans, and civil components for all projects

oacts as the liaison to coordinate all civil engineering considerations between SOSi and the Customer/Client for all projects being constructed under SOSi contracts in Iraq

•Works in the SOSi PMO in Iraq to lead all civil engineering endeavors that are part of SOSi projects in Iraq

•Assists Master Project Coordinator in development of CDRL requirements – project data books, submittal registers, pre-construction submittal packets

•Updates master project trackers as developed and submits to Reston

•Assist in development of project workload breakouts, as required

•Coordinate with end users/customers to identify mission critical civil engineering aspects of facilities and projects are addressed

•Identifies civil engineering requirements for major and minor construction projects and strategies for implementation

•Helps the SOSi PMO in its work with USACE and Customer/Client Engineering personnel to coordinate and de-conflict the engineering, design, and construction efforts; specifically when dealing with the civil engineering aspects of the efforts

•Maintains accountability for civil engineering aspects of facility design and construction implementation, and insures compliance with civil and pavements engineering design standards, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures; keeping current and familiar with both US and International standards and requirements

•Position is temporary, but may become permanent depending on Construction and Engineering project workload


•Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design and construction experience in positions of increasing responsibility

•Shall have some experience working in a contingency environment such as Iraq or Afghanistan, or some other comparable contingency environment

•Shall have experience working on a military base

•Bachelor of Civil Engineering

•Experience with development and presentation of proposals for new business

•Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and on a team

•Background displaying ability to work with or to staff, organize, lead and manage a diverse work force larger than 10 people

•Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office suite (or comparable). Knowledge of Primavera P6/Suretrak/MS Project, and project management platforms

•Ability to pass basic physical and background checks sufficient for duty in a contingency/military environment




•Graduate degree in Civil Engineering

•Prior Military Service

•Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

•LOGCAP/Military management experience is preferable

•Work experience in hazardous environments desired


•Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

•Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
